Hair Restoration
Thinning hair can be a distressing problem for both men and
women. Medical and surgical therapies are available for this
problem. Medical Therapy may consist of treatment of the underlying cause of the hair loss if it is treatable, or the use of medications.
Surgical Therapy generally involves HAIR TRANSPLANTATION or SCALP SURGERY.
These procedures can restore a more natural and youthful appearance to
the scalp by moving hair to bald areas, and sometimes removing the bald
scalp and replacing it with hair bearing scalp.
HAIR TRANSPLANTATION AND SCALP SURGERY is generally done under "Twilight" Anesthesia
and the patient can go home the same day. Enough sedation
is given so that the patient is comfortable and has little if any
recollection of the procedure, but avoids the undesirable effects of
general anesthesia.
